Introduction:

Salman Akram Awan is a seasoned communications, public relations, media, and university administration professional with over 19 years of progressive experience spanning strategic communication, journalism, corporate affairs, public relations, research management, and institutional coordination. He currently serves as Deputy Director Public Relations (Additional Charge) and Deputy Director ORIC (BS-18) at the University of Education, Lahore, where he leads institutional communication, media relations, digital outreach, publications, stakeholder engagement, and research and innovation-related initiatives.

With a strong background in national-level journalism, editorial management, strategic communication, branding, crisis communication, and public affairs, he has developed extensive expertise in managing high-profile events, media campaigns, institutional visibility, and external relations. His professional experience also includes serving in the Vice Chancellor’s Office, teaching communication and research-related subjects, and contributing to research, publications, and capacity-building initiatives.

An MPhil in Mass Communication from the University of the Punjab and a Bronze Medalist in MSc Mass Communication from the University of Sargodha, he combines academic knowledge with extensive practical experience in communication, media management, and higher education administration. His diverse professional portfolio positions him as an experienced communication leader capable of managing complex institutional and corporate communication portfolios.
